The New York Times is objectively a fascist newspaper working for rich people who are themselves often fascists and want Trump to win so they can get another huge tax cut that will further impoverish society. But blaming them for the Biden should step down campaign ignores the fact that Joe is a terrible candidate, running slightly behind a crook rapist reality TV show nazi and can't string two sentences together.
"These are not the droids you're looking for" is not a campaign strategy.

The fact is, Biden has spent 3.5 years prior to that debate, shooting his own toes off and telling the coalition that won him the election in 2020 "fuck you, you don't have a choice."
Elected to stop the fascists, reign in murderpigs, end the wars, end fascist immigration policies, stop fossil fuel companies; did nothing, backed the cops, doing a genocide, adopted Trump's immigration policies, kept drilling.

@Orc yeah I mean I feel like there's a good chance the final results are already baked in. Which shouldn't be all that surprising; this is a pretty polarizing election. The nazis aren't going to change their minds (big shocker) and neither are the liberals. If these are the two candidates going forward (and they probably are) - the result is likely not going to move much. I just don't think that equals Biden wins. Afaict.

Maybe it's down to the crazification limit (which would be disturbing; once you're down to the C.F. there's no longer any need to be either prudent or competent, because your fanatics might drag you over the line nevertheless (cf: the short fingered vulgarian in 2016)

@Orc The key point here is the polls were the polls before the debate, and the Dems assured us that those polls would CHANGE after everyone saw how great Biden was in the debates.
That's not going to happen. Clearly.
Which brings us back to "you're running slightly behind a crook nazi rapist who means to do fucking murders if he gets back in office and your campaign strategy is "fuck you, die then."

@Orc Hey, I won't criticize anyone for running; folks have to decide for themselves because this is really dark shit now and nobody knows the future. But yeah, the signs are ominous and I can't blame anyone in the firing line for saying "naw I'm not gonna wait to see how this works out until it's too late."
That's not my bag. And I hope it's not what folks reading my replies are about either.

Ah well, I've applied to renew my passport, so as long as the supreme court doesn't say passports are unconstitutional I've (maybe; I remember the St Louis) got a chance of escaping the promised pogroms.
