Addendum: At least 1 or 2 unhoused people will doubtless show up as bit parts; there's *no way* I could write a book about modern San Francisco without acknowledging their presence and making them visible. But I'm not yet sure where, when, or how they'll show up, and I haven't created them as characters yet. My MCs will certainly interact with a few. But as things stand right now, I don't have any of them built the way I do folks like that bus driver or tech billionaire.

Most, not quite all. I don't have any unhoused characters. I don't feel good about that, but I also *do* feel like they'd have too much stuff going on in terms of keeping themselves alive to be able to take part in the things my story is about.
But I do have people ranging from a bus driver who grew up in the projects to a tech billionaire and a scion of an old-money family.
