Michigan homeowners associations (HOAs) can’t ban solar panels under newly passed bill.
The bill's chief sponsor is my state representative, Ranjeev Puri.
Some local residents contacted Puri when their HOA restricted them from making energy-efficent changes to their homes.
When Governor Whitmer signs the bill, Michigan joins Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio in banning restrictions to energy-saving equipment.

@chris To me, it's common sense to pass them. AFAIK, our HOA doesn't restrict them. Neighbor down the street had solar panels installed 3 years ago.
But we are an older neighborhood, which still allows chain link fences.
Other HOAs don't allow chain link fences, but allow tall privacy fences.
Why does Florida make them unfeasible?
