It's simple bruv, you get a nice stack of wicked dubplates, turn up the volume, mashup the tracks in the champion rave, and raise the gunfinger innit. -

I personally would not use a BSD for audio production, you'd be asking for a rough time, Linux is already not a good option for that outside of Mixxx (the greatest piece of audio free software ever made). -

?? Humpleupagus ?? (humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Wednesday, 03-Jul-2024 16:56:36 JST ?? Humpleupagus ?? Yeah. I do metal, and ableton is really designed for edm, but I wanted to speed up my workload writing by taking advantage of session view and some interesting routing and midi control assignments. The nice thing about the S88 is that you can program key ranges and assign colors to the leds on the keyboard, and save those in navigable presets. So I have presets with split ranges a different midi channels that just control various things in ableton. Other presets for playing, etc. -

That's a killer setup! If I recall you're a rock guy right? Or are you doing mastering work? Me I'm just trying to whip up nice EDM tracks to put in my mixes and maybe sell on Bandcamp some day.
I have Ableton 11, and Renoise (pirated of course), but I think there something fundementally wrong with me because I'm stubbornly in love with Jeskola Buzz and it's workflow. I like trackers and obscure audio software. I've been messing around with Sound Shaper too (it's what Aphex Twin uses to do spectral morphing).
Hardware-wise I just have Arturia Midi board and a nice DAC. -

Ehh. Honestly bro, I see so much potential in using buzz and I can do wild and unique shit with it and thats why I'm hooked. It will literally load any 64 bit or 32 bit VST plugin you throw at it. All the good ones that no longer work in modern daws, work great in Buzz still (I use the 2022 edition, we modern too).
Trust me I get it, most producers are using Ableton or Logic, maybe a couple Cubase guys out there, but Ableton is the standard for EDM.
But I want to be WEIRD...
I'm super inspired by Aphex Twin, that nigga made alot of his shit using MS-DOS tools and random obsure software and it's sound tits to this day.
