@jeff The first graph (servers) actually shows a thriving and healthy ecosystem where the process of diversification is still ongoing.
The second (MAUs) shows a stable ecosystem, also a good sign. These people won't suddenly disappear. But it also shows saturation, so to increase MAUs some innovation will be needed (and I don't think it will come from Mastodon)

These graphs from #Fedidb suggest that the ecosystem is not thriving.
A 9.7% user retention rate is concerning.
I also suspect that the MAU numbers might be artificially high, as they may not differentiate between real users and bots.
