   sometimes it feels like all the evils in the US can be traced back to racism. have you read Sabrina Strings' Fearing the Black Body - The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia (2019, New York University Press)?
   but that feeling is probably backwards. it's the racism that can be traced back to the evils.
