   I guess we're all finding out what it is like to live in interesting times. I'm not going to panic because it's pointless. The question to ask yourself when the center fails to hold is what you are going to do to hold your own center. When the structures around you fall apart, then the only you have left to do as an individual is to give up or not give up. And in this context, not giving up means acting an accordance to the values the system has failed to hold up.

     Depending on who you are and where you are, the personal costs to doing that can be enormous. I don't know what else to say at this point. The only thing left to stave off the inevitable is to deny that fascist re-election and that just got harder. My personal value system is going to prioritize looking after the well-being of the people within my personal circle of friends and family. Which includes a lot of very vulnerable people.
