   OK that was a whirlwind. What started as "let's make a list of the websites still on my old server" turned into "let's export the last remaining WordPress blog on that server to a static Eleventy site" 🫠

   I've never used Eleventy before, so that was a tad ambitious.

   The side-by-side looks good though! The URLs won't change (with some minor nginx magic) and I can scratch WordPress and its database off the migration todo list.

   WordPress live site on the left, Eleventy rebuild on the right.

     @annika I’m a big fan of 11ty just because it refers to me to the small web. Maybe we don’t need big dev environments to share out out thoughts.

     Of course, the "minor nginx magic" ends up being the most complicated part of this whole thing.

     So my initial goal was to use the "default" Eleventy configuration (adapted for WordPress permalinks) of `category/post-name/index.html`, but strip `/index.html` from the end of URLs.

     In nginx, I think this requires a conditional. Here's what I ended up with: https://i.abackstrom.com/share/2024/07/nginx-test/nginx.conf.txt

     I have something working (don't need help any more per se) but if anyone was curious and wanted to poke at this, here's a git repo you can clone, reproducing the setup in a Docker container: https://i.abackstrom.com/share/2024/07/nginx-test.git
