This question from @StillIRise1963 gets to the heart of today’s SCOTUS decision:

The decision is vague enough to let these corrupt justices declare any particular president a dictator — but also vague enough for them to withhold that power on a whim.

They’re not turning •US presidents• into gods above the law. They’re turning •Trump• into a god above the law.

Those whom the law protects but does not bind etc etc.

How can Biden “violate” the law if he’s not subject to law? Riddle me that.🤔

For poetic reasons, I’d like to see the Biden admin issue an order to assassinate a few SCOTUS justices effective Aug 1, with a detailed rationale of it being part of executive duties and with a promise of full pardons for the assassins, and then let the courts react in a tizzy.

But only for poetic reasons — I don’t think that would actually accomplish diddly. We all know the score here.

@inthehands @StillIRise1963 read in tandem with their shitcanning of cheveron last week the courts have set themselves above the other branches in totality.

They can decide what the statutes say, they can decide if executive action is within the bounds of the law, they can decide on immunity.

All without ever seeing something in front of a jury or developing a full factual record.

I’m not the only one saying all this. Here’s @AnarchoNinaWrites laying out in a few short sentences how it works:

I cannot stress this enough - SCOTUS did not define what is an official act. So all you folks saying "well okay so now Biden can..." are not getting the bigger picture here. The President is immune for official acts, courts will decide what is official, and SCOTUS has last rule on whatever courts decide. So if Trump does some fascist shit they like? That'll be official. And if Biden tries to do something they don't like? Unless it's written into LAW that's a Presidential power, it won't be.
