     @Alex_Linder This sounds like justification for a power grab from the pope. They were not being persecuted by any stretch, but supported against real persecution in Spain, Russia and even France. The big problem with having an international religious state is that it combines the political motive with the religious, so instead of lying scumbag pedos controlling armies, you have lying scumbag pedos claiming to speak for God.
