     Although it turns out that border procedures when you arrive from the UK without using public transport are a bit ad-hoc.

     Might be interesting times at passport control when I try to leave.

     @goatsarah If you arrive at a port where your last port is in the same country or another Schengen country, do you just ignore border stuff, or are you supposed to turn up and at least make a note of your presence?
