I used to be a Democrat who believed in the idea of liberal progress and even incrementalism. I was taught like most Black folk to believe that God was on my side, and that only those evil bad racist Republicans were the stumbling block to my unlimited achievement.
I have grown up to see that that was a fallacy, a fantasy, and a lie. And not because the Republicans aren't fascist racist pigs, because they most certainly are.
This is why I evolved into an Indy Leftist & now I am out and proud.

Currently, I am a registered Green Party member, though my current political and social evolution has landed me well to the Left of even the Greens. My current political philosophy can be summed up as two parts early Noam Chomsky, two parts Monthly Review editor Paul Sweezy, and three parts porn feminist Goddess Nina Hartley. "Vulgar MarXXXist" isn't just a passing phrase for me. It's in my blood.

I was at one time a fanatical fan of Nina in her early days in adult, when she was still more of a Red Diaper Leftist. She has evolved more into a classic liberal in her later years, and we have had a separation of ways due totally to eff ups of my doing, but she still remains one of my Muses.
She has written a bunch of contributions to sex worker and adult industry activism. Google "Sex Work: Readings By Women In The Adult Industry" for one example.
