On this day December 9 1906, Grace Hopper was born. Not only did she develop the theory of machine-independent programming languages, she also created the first compiler for a computer programming language and popularized the term 'debugging' when she removed a moth from a computer. Her legacy lives on in the ACM's Grace Murray Hopper Award, recognizing young computer professionals, as well as the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. #TechHistory #GraceHopper #WomenInSTEM
