  I still buy things from bandcamp from time to time but in this world of streaming and such, i like having possession of the actual file as opposed to renting it. Same with movies, streaming films has gotten so garbage.

  It can also run Ganecube, PS2, and Xbox. Plus it has a full desktop (plasma), so my kids can use Freetube, Kodi, etc.

  Yeah. Optiplex micros are pretty small, so it's not noticeable. I have it hard wired to my network, so I can WoL it, and it WoLs the TV on boot. The TV is hooked to the stereo. I use KDE Connect and Yatse to control it from my phone.

  The only issues are that it doesn't have hdmi-cec for controlling the TV, and the Bluetooth dongle has to be put on an extension to get it away to the box. I've found that a lot of sbcs that don't have Bluetooth have the same issue re bluetooth dongles.

  It's amazing how hard it is to find decent stereo equipment these days. No one really makes an affordable eq anymore. I bought a bunch of behringer miniFBQs before they stopped making them for my other rooms (standard digital eqs sound like shit). And most consumer speakers suck too. I use old studio monitors in two of my rooms because of this (monitors have built in amps, so no need for a reciever).

  I noticed the entertainment stand with a receiver and surround sound speakers isn't as populate anymore. Every young guy used to have that kind of setup. I have a pc in one next to the tv and its sound comes from speakers for gaming. You can even do sound bar if you don't have a lot of space.
