Fun fact: Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” was actually written by his not-yet-wife June Carter and Merle Kilgore. It was first recorded and released in 1962, by June’s sister, Anita. Johnny’s version was released in 1963.
Johnny’s then-wife, Vivian, maintains that he “wrote that song, while pilled up and drunk, about a certain private female body part.”
