   with friends, trust is the prime conection between you. You can tell each other things and ur comfortable with each other anf like each other
   
   with partners its that, but with attraction as well. So being attractive to the other person becomes important as well as trust and chemistry.
   
   so then to turn a potential relationship into a friendzone, youd have to necessarily lose attraction for the other person or be less attractive to them, without losing the trust and chemistry of the relationship.
   
   which makes sense, because you see boyfriends and girlfriends bulshitting each other and hiding things and playing games, because they dont wanna seem less attractive.
   
   Which is also why you dont bullshit their friends and can open up more to them, because u dont care to seem less attractive
