   99% of the servers that block us mean nothing to anybody here, but then you have people maintaining big ass instances like mastodon social and hachyderm who block us. How the hell do I set up a relay again....

     @kirby@lab.nyanide.com This is also why something like Bluesky has failed to take off, the creators wanted too much control.
     
     The only control in the fedi comes from many users unfortunately being stuck on Mastodon.social and not knowing anything better, or that an entire world exists outside of one instance. I can understand why DRC gets blocked, but with many instances the users aren't always deciding "hey we should pick fights with other instances on a weekend or bad day at work".
