@neko I don't believe it'll be practically bypassable for clients running the proprietary video playing JavaScript from youtube.com, as I guess extensions can't differ between video packages and ad video packets with the available API.
Invidious and yt-dlp are free of such ad injection, as they use the API directly (revealed via reverse engineering) and by default is designed to ignore ad streams, so you should just use those (i.e. mpv+yt-dlp or vlc+yt-dlp) instead of running proprietary JavaScript.
