     John Carpenter was on fire during the '80s. So many great movies that still hold up.

     Just watched Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982) for the first time.

     Came for the jump scares. Stayed for the disturbingly bang-on allegory for how in 2024 AI is devouring everything in its sight in order to project grotesque replicas of what it's devoured. Holy shit.
