   i should set up my own XMPP server again
   
   i don't want to rely too much on infrastructure other people control for any sensitive communication with friends

     @olivia install prosody and spend like 5 minutes figuring out the config and you'll have a server up by then
     
     i say up if you're going bare minimum, stuff like media isn't difficult to set up but it takes a second to get right [at least it did for me but i am very stupid]
