While I'm ranting - the developers on Google's Chrome team who try to do things to improve privacy probably have good intentions, but the end result of that stuff is that it makes it harder for Google's competitors in AdTech to operate whilst not seriously impacting Google.

kccqzy (kccqzy@techhub.social)'s status on Saturday, 15-Jun-2024 15:00:38 JST kccqzy @claushoumann @ryanc It's not really a mental breakdown if you consider the different departments of Google separately, and only then look at Google's biggest source of revenue. It's incredibly easy to find teams within Google that are extremely devoted to privacy, and it's equally easy to consider actions by Google that are all but dictated by the people working on ads.
