The collapse of scientific credibility hasn't led to a religious revival, it's led to people relying ever more on their own gut instinct, which is a very American thing.

@judgedread E-mail and PowerPoint caste hardest hit.

I remember, uh, traveling through a certain very cold capital city in the 90s. All the young men were aspiring to be professional assassins or gangsters at the time. They also had an affinity for sunflower seeds. All the young women (including many quite lovely ones) wanted to be high class call girls.

Sad. Things have gotten a lot better since then though.

@TrevorGoodchild Most Americans don't know how to do anything useful. Outland regions of the USSR still had farmers, trappers and hunters. Also natural resource based economy meant they could export oil and other good stuff for cash.

@judgedread True that. As each thing that people "believe in" turns out to be corrupted garbage, very few put the effort into building a new worldview, or way of life, that is well grounded. Most just slide into apathy and despair.

@Obfuskation That's why I have no faith in collapse going our way. People will continue to believe in all the shit that caused the collapse. Not the forced memes like trannyism, but feminist presuppositions and 'not all niggers are like that.'

@judgedread @Obfuskation USSR-style disintegration and a very, very painful ensuing 10-20 years is sadly looking like the way to bet.

Only worse, because they still had their heavy industrial base and well established black/grey market workarounds for day-to-day living. Their "diversity" was also mostly segregated away from the actual Russians

      So it goes

@TrevorGoodchild @judgedread @Obfuskation remember, what makes the change is people go from believing in nothing to believing in what works. The quicker something is able to be shown working, the less pain will happen.
