What if—and hear me out—instead of using a bunch of electricity to pull CO2 from the air to turn it into combustible hydrocarbons, instead we used that electricity to do the work that we would normally use hydrocarbons for, essentially bypassing the whole hydrocarbon to CO2 and back again loop?
