I get the impression that not many people can comprehend the politics around climate and energy especially in such a complex political landscape in the USA.

I'm so glad that because of his decades and decades of experience Joe Biden does!

How Joe Biden 'broke OPEC' and rewrote the rules for oil trading
      from MSNBC
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, has had massive influence over American politics for six decades. President Biden’s "incredible" oil market trading has broken this influence. Dan Dicker joins Chris Hayes to discuss how Biden got ahead in oil production and what that means for the transition to clean energy.

@GreenFire When he was a senator, I didn't pay much attention and in general Biden just seemed like your usual useless good ole boy.

Watchin him operate as Prez has been a real eyeopener. Without any fuss or muss or noise, he just runs rings around Repubs in Congress, now MBS, he's managed to keep the Middle East from going straight to WWIII in spite of the wishes of all the loonies there. (Bibi def included.) The Repubs allowed the IRA to pass before they knew what hit them. It's been amazing.

Okay, I just listened to the whole interview and "breaking" OPEC is going too far, but he did use an entirely innovative way to figure out how to keep oil prices within a margin that kept it from being too expensive as well as too cheap.

While I want oil to be worthless, it wouldn't be politically wise at this point, but what he did that's so good for the #EnergyTransition was to keep renewable energy companies afloat using our petroleum reserves.

Gotta love it. His fist bump took MBS down!
