   I was just looking up my old commute from the apartment in the bay area I lived at for several years - it was about 55 minutes door-to-door each way, five days a week.

   My current commute is actually less than that on a per week basis, yet annoys me dramatically more.

   I was 100% remote for a couple years, then when I moved to London my door-to-door was maybe 3 minutes because by coincidence the new office ended up being literally next door to my flat.

   Guess I got used to not commuting.

     @astrid I had a nice ~25 minute walking commute for a while that was really nice.

     @ryanc i have found that i do best with a ~30 minute commute. i benefit from the defocused time and also the thought-barrier
