   i'm starting to think about the person-who-feels-something as the "subject" of art. i've heard it used in not this way before. but i have been looking for a while for a Generic term to use in place of "player" which can be applied to other art forms -- the one who is there with the work engaging with it.

   "subject," to me, feels perfect. the subject is the one who actually matters. the subject acts and feels. the player of a game is the subject.

     @droqen I like the term. when I’m livestreaming a game, are the audience members also subjects?

     @clarity i think part of what i've been looking for is a way to defuse ideas of AI-as-artist . . . a subject is in some sense defined by a thing that has an internal response that we care about, even if we can never genuinely access it.

     in this sense i would like to say that all people are always subjects at some level.

     i think you're asking about w/r/t the game you're livestreaming though which is a question i'll put off answering for now until i figure out more of this theory. good q tho!
