I'm not a native speaker, people in movies are speaking less theatrically and more realistically than they did 40 years ago, so more mumbling and more speaking fast, there's usually some idiomatic stuff or brand mentions that are impossible to catch without text.
Plus, I'm already watching with my hand on the remote to quickly change volume so we can hear when people speak while also not waking the neighbors when shit explodes.
