   I've seen some Mastodon users talking about Mastodon's account redirection feature, and I think it's important to underscore the fact that this is not a universal fediverse feature.
   
   You will not generally be able to use it if you're moving to or from an account on mastodon and other instance software, and followers using other software will not be automatically redirected.
   
   If you move accounts, and you want people to follow your new account, you should write posts telling your followers that you are doing so, otherwise some of them will miss it.

     @emilis@puff.place oh I agree yeah, it's genuinely annoying this is a mastodon-only feature because I think this and the filtering are probably the two major things I want in other software

     @evelyn@misskey.bubbletea.dev @emilis@puff.place well filtering is WIP in Calckey rn, and as for follow redirection, I might be able to take a look at the API and try and implement that.
