I feel like something that should be emphasized in gen chem when they're covering the specific heat capacity of water is just how hotter the atmosphere on Earth has to be for the oceans to have heated up by as many degrees as they have in places.
(They could stand to link the oceans heating to acidification in the acid-base lessons, & link to the effects, like coral bleaching)
Post inspired by just how much time a 9" roaster pot of water has to spend in a 350F solar oven before it boils....
