My whole family benefited greatly from an affirmative action program for white people: the WW2 version of the GI bill. The extended family as a whole went from auto workers in the 1940's to white collar professionals later on. I can trace all that directly back to the GI bill after WW2.

The post-WW2 GI bill would be a good place to start reparations for Americans descended from slaves. It is well documented who was left out & missed out on the family wealth building. That is easily traceable.
