   @krisbrowne42 @cstross @GossiTheDog MS claim that Recall doesn’t send anything to the cloud. Hence the requirement for a chunky NPU.

     @cstross @GossiTheDog If Apple ever went for a feature like this, I suspect they would focus on it being entirely device-local just so they can sh!t on MS’s plans. If you read their AI research to-date it’s been far more focused on privacy over features.

     Currently glad I use Macs/iOS instead of Windows; but side-eyeing a return to Linux—or maybe BSD—just in case Apple think copying Microsoft is a Good Idea. (Hopefully they're not that stupid.)
