My first experimental music crush was probably the Chicago group Labradford. That was always the strain of post rock I gravitated to. A focus on drift work with little to no nods to rock. This Ekhozone recording reminds of that sound if it evolved and picked up a few relatives on the way.
Thomas Köner and beatmeister Andy Mellwig made up the group Porter Ricks who had slow as molasses like float as does this Ekhozone recording. Sonically It doesn’t quite flow but the sound kinda hangs there and evolves accordingly. The bass adds the right amount of texture so in other words it’s more dub techno. I can’t help that I just end up here almost nightly.
