   if you can't be in a coalition with people you disagree with on at least a few things, you can't build a coalition big enough to accomplish anything in the United States or defeat rising fascism.

     Yup. In all the instances globally where the far-right has gained a stranglehold on politics (e.g. Hungary, Slovakia, Turkey, India, Israel, Georgia, etc.), it's not because the extremists have suddenly become popular; rather, it's the fact that the non-fascist opposition in all those places remains fragmented because they refuse to get their heads out of their asses and put aside minor squabbles over policy to come together for the greater good
