@neauoire I'm referring to the idea of rerendering the entire frame, regardless of the framerate. This idea is something that became prominent in game development in the nineties, I think. Games written for older platforms generally update only what is necessary.

@viznut @neauoire And it's something modern graphical servers still support (usually called Damage reporting), that said might be only relevant to software rendering, which got quite rare in the field of games.
In fact I think it got relevant again ~today because of things like 4K displays combined with the bandwidth limits of some PCI/USB/… setups.
