@nosleep @sun Not just sugar. Salt too.
The food processing industry adds loads of salt to cover up the fact that their food has no flavor. Since few of us do physical labor in the hot sun all day, we don't sweat enough to get any benefit from such high levels of salt. Instead we get hypertension and stress on our hearts.
A few months of salt restriction and you can go back to a moderate amount of salt ... but by then, you'll likely have figured out how to flavor food without burying it in salt.

@lnxw37j1 @sun this too. theres so many ways in which unhealthy food kills you slowly. its hard to wean off of (i myself have been struggling with it for a while), but the benefits really sober you up when you think about it

@nosleep @lnxw37j1 @sun after resetting the taste buds (1 week of not consuming sugar, salt and oils) and raw vegetarianism, you're going to recover the real flavor of any food.
Second: use spices, vinager, limes and other herbs to boost the flavor of your food, in Mexico we add limes and chipotle sauce to the soups, add more onions to other food, and fried garlic to the rice... always use them as salt aternatives.
Third: sugar alternatives... banana, pinneaples, nuts, monk herb, or use sugar but drink 1 gallon of water to dilute the sugar in your body.
