@coachtony Very true. One of the good ones in #Chicago is the Chicago Athletic Association - it has an attached hotel now. Amazing fireplaces, wood paneling, and you can just sit there for hours!

  Last Sunday @dohappybelove@mastodon.social participated in an Urban Sketchers event held at the Chicago Athletic Association. Neither of us had ever been there before - what a surprise! One of the hidden gems of the Loop. It is completely open to the public. It has fireplaces, wood paneling, long tables with lots of light and plugs, comfy chairs and couches, a few restaurants, and even a hotel. You can sit and work for hours.   Hotel lobbies are under appreciated places to work. Sarah and I went to the Fairmont in SF for a writing retreat. She's working on a novel. I'm working on a board letter and marketing announcement.
