I sit alone in a room and have no idea what normal people know.

Does everyone know the emphysema is now like AIDS, in that you just take your medicine for the rest of your life and can live normally? My mother smoked herself into full blown emphysema over twelve years ago and all she had to do was quit smoking and use an expensive inhaler. She doesn't even carry around an oxygen tank yet, but by now she can't talk and walk at the same time.
