I have had no access to Google Search for many years, aside from a period of time when I could access it via a LibreX proxy. That is because it depends on nonfree JavaScript code, which I won't trust. I recommend people ditch Google Search and switch to other engines such as duckduckgo.com.
@rms Last time I tried it, google search worked without JavaScript, but I tried it now and well; "In order to continue, please enable javascript on your web browser."
For anyone who insists on terrible results, there is the https://www.startpage.com/ frontend site that works without JavaScript (for now).
Searx and YaCl are looking like the few remaining options for decent search results.
