@MelGibsonafter4Beers @db @zerosum @suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport This is why leaders are far more important than policy. A bad leader will use good policies as a cover for introducing poison, while a good leader who introduced bad policies will modify them when it's apparent they're not working. What made Hitler successful was that he genuinely wanted the people to succeed, because he saw his power and that of Germany as reliant on a successful people, while FDR saw his power as reliant on plutocrats who only wanted to mollify an angry populace while continuing to fleece them.

@db @zerosum @suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport Coughlin, Huey Long and Gerald LK Smith were all initially supporters of the New Deal & FDR, Coughlin even popularized the campaign slogan "Roosevelt or Ruin," before the two had their falling out.
Coughlin rightfully turned on FDR because he felt that the WPA / New Deal policies granted too much clemency to Jewish bankers & weren't doing enough for the common man.

@db @zerosum @suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport The best aspects of FDR's New Deal (CCC, WPA) we're all policies that the Roosevelt administration stole from Huey Long's Share our Wealth program and the German Labour Front (KDF).
Before the war, Dr. Joseph Goebbels stated in an interview that he felt that "President Roosevelt has chosen the correct path," praising FDR for his adoption of "National Socialist strains of thought."

@zerosum @db @suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport The "Radio Priest," Coughlin was one of the first American dissidents to be deplatformed. FDR even banned him from postal service.....not many can make that claim.

@db @suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport He had it coming, Hamilton was a notoriously arrogant "creole bastard," that pissed off many people throughout the course of his life.
Edit: Gertrude Atherton put forth the theory that "creole bastard," Hamilton was part black due to his father leaving him / his place of birth being the Caribbean.

@suquili @n3f_X @JohnSmith87298753 @ColonReport According to historians dueling was usually "a non-lethal test of courage," unless you were Aaron Burr or Andrew Jackson.
