Employees working on the project were told on Sunday that they need to meet a deadline of November 7th to launch the feature or they will be fired.:blobcatgooglyholdingitsheadinitshands: jz wtf...
i mean i get why he wants to make some money off off of it, since birdsite isnt really in a good financial state. but this business practice is fucked up
@snowyfox@deadinsi.de Twitter’s operating costs for last year were $5.57 billion, despite only $5.2 billion in revenue. On top of the current net loss, the loans used to purchase the platform add a further billion in yearly interest payments on top of current operating costs. At minimum, Twitter has a $1.4 billion dollar hole in their budget that needs filling. With a recession coming, we should expect the platform’s revenue to decrease rather than increase. The short of it is, Twitter is not in a good place financially.doesnt seem like they made money last year
@snowyfox@puniko I think he's set an impossible task to try to dismiss employees for "cause" - or it's some kind of work-pressure Darwinism. Probably both, equally cynical/stupid.
