I totally forgot about this until Google Photos reminded me today. Last month, I came across this weirdly named coffee place in Shanghai Pudong Airport. I can't figure out if it's just a misspelling of Cakes that was too complicated to correct after the fact, or if there is supposed to be some other meaning. 🤔 FWIW, the Chinese 咖啡美食 means something like Coffee & Fine Foods. #CoffeeAndCates#Shanghai#China
@shiawase ha, perfect. Yeah that matches the Chinese meaning of 美食, so I guess that where it came from. Never even heard of that word in English (admittedly I am not a native English speaker, but consider myself pretty fluid after 30-odd years in London 😁).
