     If you absolutely must you want to look in to CBT programs. Those actually have to do work.

     @adiz@soc0.outrnat.nl @ruin@mai.waifuism.life For me that's kind of the point. I have nobody to talk about a lot of personal feelings with, to the point I'm willing to pay someone to listen to me bullshit and complain. Mainly I've had such a wild last couple months / year it's got me reconsidering a LOT about myself and my life and what the fuck I'm doing. I'm basically having my 2nd before mid life crisis.

     @ruin@mai.waifuism.life @thegreatape@den.raccoon.quest I have thought long and hard about therapy before trying to get into another relationship. But, then I thought about a phrase I saw a while back: "therapists are like hookers---you're just paying someone to pretend to like you". And, it's kinda true. I don't know what real utility I might get out of a therapist and they might secretly hate me. I would imagine a lot of therapists probably hate their jobs. I'm sure many therapists are themselves probably pretty terrible people who get off on intimate knowledge of the lives of others and being able to lead others astray. I don't know, I just don't trust them nor do I really trust the practice. And I don't like the idea of confiding problems in someone, with the goal of working on myself, to someone who doesn't really give a fuck about me and is just there for the paycheck.
