     @Red_Hat @Terry @Rasterman Way back when I was a baby accountant, I worked in a tax office and we paid a guy who was an Iraq veteran to stand in front of our building wearing a statue of liberty costume and wave at people. Poor guy served almost a full term in Iraq but then he started hearing voices and they booted him out with no benefits. He never saw any action but was assigned to guard some isolated oil field with like 4 other soldiers who were all the same rank. Said it was the most boring time of his life. Your post reminded me of him. I wonder how he is now.

     @Terry @Rasterman Based on videos I've seen they sometimes just dump them out on the frontline without any training or command leadership. It's insane.

     @Rasterman I don't know about defecting, but many of the conscripts are surrendering at first contact with the Russians.

     @Terry I'm beginning to think Zelenski does not care a lot about his troops.
     
     In the War of the Triple Alliance (1864-1870), Paraguay lost around 90% of its adult male population. Later, around 70% of the overall population died of famine and disease too. Today, Paraguay is famous for its brown criminals and bootleg DVDs. Ukraine should not fight to the end like Paraguay did.
     
     Also, if the conflict is so chaotic, why aren't these men defecting? No one seems to be there to shoot them in the back any more.

     Ukrainian soldier, surrounded by his dead comrades tells how fucked up things are. One of the dead soldiers was press ganged only 4 days ago.
