     @BM_Bourguignon Mastodon is the largest installed base today, but it joined a network that GNU Social, Friendica and Hubzilla had already been running for years.

     The first post on the Fediverse was on 2008-05-17:

     identi.ca is no longer compatible with the rest of the Fediverse, it left in 2013. Today's protocol is a standardized but incompatible evolution of the pump.io protocol identi.ca is running.

     Hopefully one day it will join again.
