PS. If something happens to the AMAZING Perplexity AI search because a lot of people are being Anti-AI, I am making a mental note of who to ask all my questions to if a time comes when I can't use it anymore.
Who here has all the knowledge of the web and is able to summarize information from it in less than a minute? I'd suggest not a single person but with the Anti-AI bs I'm seeing literally every second of every day, you'd think otherwise....🤦♂️
Anti-anything folks usually suck hard.
@BeAware
You are absolutely correct. People seem to notice only the bad possibilities of AI. Not the advantages it brings.
I wish there would be more positivity in this topic.
@ErnstGucker it's been getting worse and worse and the most insane part is that a LOT of the Anti-AI stuff is complaining about absolutely asinine implementations that make no sense in the first place.
Trying to see a dress with a shovel, of course will not work. However if you use the tool for something within it's actual capabilities, then it does wonderfully. Shovels dig holes. Needles sew dresses. AI puts things together based on previous examples of how things were put together. It doesn't "know" anything and people keep thinking it does. Do they not know what ARTIFICIAL means? Like come on!
Sorry I'm ranting
@BeAware
AI is now built into the qualitative data analysis tool bench that I use every day for work. The ability to summarize text is very helpful, and the new feature of "chatting with" a document is amazing, and more than a little bewildering. It is allowing me to greatly speed up trivial tasks, and greatly support my real analytical work
@BeAware
I also love the approach that Verbi took to how they frame these tools. Like the new chat feature they frame as the researcher being able to chat with the document, and ask the document questions. So it is a dialogue between me and this document I am analyzing, and that's a very helpful way to look at this.
My biggest hurdle is getting my mind around what these interactions and methods mean epistemologically, ontologically, and methodologically
but generating an FAQ or minutes is 🔥
