UPS has reasonable guarantee of delivery but they're 3x the cost of USPS

The wife is a letter writing kind of person. She has an entire room full of stationary.
I've been trying to gently inform her that the postal service in this country is going to hell, and has been for some time. It's wrecked by diversity.
She regularly gets stuff returned for no discernible reason and even sometimes just gone into the magic postal aether, never to be heard from again.
If you really, really need to get it there, try FedEx or UPS. They actually can track your package. USPS has "tracking" but it's a fraud.
Sad. We used to be a real country.

@WilhelmIII @tyler Priority mail or certified mail is probably cheaper than UPS and doesn't suck. Their tracking is actually real.
I don't think we can totally blame diversity for USPS either. They got dicked over by international agreements that let China send stuff to the USA for cheaper than we can send things a state away, Amazon and other things using smart post, etc. Some of that they had to take to stay solvent. It's become a crappy job unless you want to be outside all day walking with a heavy bag, in which case it's an okay job.
