I never thought I would end up using Mastodon as along as I have, as I was ignorant how liberating a federated service could be.
@1dalm@darnell@darnell.day It’s legal according to the letter of the law (Apple is providing app developers an option to use alternatives) while opposing the intent of the law (providing a realistic option for app developers).
This is why the Judge 👨🏾⚖️ is upset, but I am not sure if they can force Apple to do more without overstepping their authority (in which case Apple could appeal to a higher court & win).
I do not understand how what Apple is doing is legal. Imagine if a landlords did what Apple does: take 30% fee on all transactions performed on their land and then ban leasees that try to sell their products in other stores.
