@Vril_Oreilly >The destinations have to be walkable in order to build up this kind of infrastructure in the first place.

@skylar The only times public transit ever seems to have a real argument is for particularly long distances (flight) or if you're going into a city and you don't want to deal with heavy traffic and parking (trains)
Aside from that cars are always superior

@LordMordred @Vril_Oreilly Can only happen if public transit infrastructure improves, new building development is integrated with public transit, and if the people living in it are willing to forgo personal transport.
1st step and 3rd are most difficult because you need to remove all the trash of society and convince people that you can still have all the benefits of personal travel plus more convenience.

can't wave a magic wand to convince people of something that is so obviously false. you'll just wind up like the journalists who have public meltdowns on twitter because gamers won't stop liking booba.
how can you possibly sell "bro it's so convenient just walk 3 blocks to the tram stop and wait for the next tram then wait for it to go along its route to the town's commuter rail station then go in and wait for the next train and get on when it arrives and wait for it to stop at 2 other stations before getting to the station you want then check the map of bus routes and walk to the correct bus stop to wait for the correct bus then ride it past 7 stops and then finally walk 4 more blocks from the bus stop to your destination" to folks who get in their car and drive directly from their garage to the destination's parking lot?
