   A few years back, I wrote that the right wing in America believed that human rights were a reward for ideological correctness, rather than a baseline all persons were entitled to. The designation of “stateless” enemies who could be targeted for assassination, and the insistence that noncitizens have no claim to humane treatment or protection under the law, would inevitably slide into arguments that “insufficiently loyal” citizens have no rights.

   Keep an eye on this one.

     @dsmdexter the distance between “biblical literalism” and “constitutional originalism” is pretty much nonexistent IMO; both are a mechanism for laundering interperetive frameworks as “the plain meaning of the thing itself”

     @havvyhh2 I don’t want to give anygody a rage hernia or anything, but a big part of the authoritarian / high control group mindset that’s shared by the religious and political right is the idea that “good” is a kind of status one has, not a kind of action one does. The Euthyphro dilemma is no dilemma at all!

     @eaton ....infuriating in the extreme....perhaps this "pastor" would enlighten is all by oozing his sentiments about ex-presidents attempting an insurrection, raping & abusing women, stealing and obstructing recovery of classified/top secret/military secrets, and generally pushing an anti-America policy platform....among other crimes against our Republic and citizens!! You are right to urge keeping an eye on this. The audacity of this fool "pastor"....
