     @cell @kaia @thendrix @hakui i think this is mixing up different things, investing in a promising company is very different from buying a $3k youtube machine on credit. although of course in a low interest environment more and more outlandish things can get funding, but that's the opposite of big tech.

     @cell if I give you a suggestion.
     As long as you don't need the long life batteries due to you usually don't have access to the wall socket, and you are not using paid software that you already bought for macOS.

     If you like that, you can still get away with another operating system.

     @cell @hakui @kaia @thendrix although there's also a second order effect that might lead to bigger big companies in a low interest environment, because it's (comparatively) cheaper for them to buy competitors when the interest rate is low and you have cash lying around
